I lost lots of weight in the 90's and since then I went low carb and have only gotten bigger. I lost but was unable to keep the momentum going. My last loss was 4 years ago, and I honestly don't have the energy to do it again. I ate low carb and lost 65 lbs, and soon found it. Now I need to lose 100 pounds and I've looked back over my dieting history. I can live with low fat. Anyone else out there? I start on May 4th. I have ordered all the old books, like t factor - because there are no new ones out there. Just because they made low fat products with sugar and some people didn't have success, I feel low fat has gotten a bad rap!

Cathy,

I agree with you, Low Fat does get a bad rap! Low Fat definitely has its place in the diet world. In my opinion, Low Carb Diets are especially important for diabetics where it is medically necessary to watch sugar intake. For me a Low Fat - Low Carb combination, with a Mediterranean twist seems to be a winning combination. Over this past winter I’ve lost 12 pounds with this combination, which may also work for you. But I also incorporate exercise into the mix, walking 3-4 x a week for at least 20 minutes. Also, I'm constantly adapting recipes to lower fat, lower carb, healthier versions. It is definitely a work in progress, it isn't a fad for me- it is my life's work.
